Abigail Bush is the Manager of Watershed Engineering and has been with the San Antonio River Authority since 2017. She leads a diverse team of civil engineers, surveyors, inspectors, and engineering technicians. Watershed Engineering provides technical support and project management for capital improvement projects, water resource planning, and all other technical programs for the San Antonio River Authority. This Department provides support and resources for the design, drafting, surveying, construction administration, inspection, and technical reviews necessary for implementation of sustainable stormwater management, river restoration, wastewater treatment, water supply, parks and linear trails, and other related projects. Department staff is charged with developing and maintaining the River Authority’s regional mapping and modeling programs within the San Antonio River Basin. The Department works with cities and counties in our jurisdiction to assist them in floodplain administration, selection and prioritization of capital projects, and development of regional models and modeling standards.
Abigail holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master of Science in Geography from Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Abigail’s past experience includes GIS analysis and hydrology & hydraulic modeling with Halff Associates in San Antonio, as well as transportation drainage, flood control, and stream restoration with Michael Baker International in San Antonio. She currently serves as the Board of Director for District 1 of the Trinity Glen Rose Groundwater Conservation District and Region 6 Director for the Texas Floodplain Managers Association.
