Serves approximately 7,400 customers from Woodlake, Ventura, and Camelot Subdivisions in northeast Bexar County.
Upper Martinez is currently a 2.21 MGD extended aeration WWTP with a UV system for disinfection of the effluent.
- In 1967 initial Phase constructed (.3 MGD oxidation ditch facility) developer constructed plant for SARA in consideration of future connections to the system.
- In 1974 developer joint venture financed a 1 MGD plant expansion to expand plant capacity to 1.3 MGD.
- In 1984 plant expansion construction completed (2.21 MGD total capacity).
- Capital Improvement Projects for the Upper Martinez System have totaled approximately $12,198,000 to date.
SARA Utilities maintain the collection system, which consists of:
- 1,737 man holes
- 1 lift staton (Foster Road Lift Station)
- 117.75 miles of collection line
Note: The Upper Martinez Treatment Plant and service system, operations and maintenance, facilities expansions, and system administration costs are totally funded by impact fees, interest income on utilities funds, hay sales, and uniform user rate charges.
