After November 30, 2009, the San Antonio River Authority (SARA) will no longer operate Braunig Lake and Calaveras Lake Parks. Property owner CPS Energy will keep the lake parks open under new management, who will honor existing permits and reservations.
The San Antonio River Authority thanks all past and present park users for over 40 years of patronage to these lake parks. We encourage you to continue using them for various outdoor recreational activities.

The Nature Trail is one of the newest recreational additions to Calaveras Park. It is quietly tucked away on the northern part of the recreational shoreline and offers a variety of natural habitat that makes it ideal for bird watching or simply taking a peaceful stroll. The trail offers winding paths that extend over 2000 feet with conveniently placed benches for seating. Springtime offers an array of wildflowers, from Texas Bluebonnets to Siberian Wallflowers, that make the trail a must-see for on lookers.
